With the Learning and Teaching Course at the University of Leeds having a relatively low take-up, the Lifelong Leaning Centre team tasked us with raising awareness of the course through Social Media, Facebook and Twitter with the ultimate aim of increasing sign-up registrations.
Following a ‘Listen & Learn’ exercise to fully understand the audience’s drives and challenges we created a campaign based on real people and experiences, highlighting the benefits and flexibility of the course as well as the support available. A three month plan was then put together that included daily tweets with a bespoke hashtag, Facebook advertising and new images posted on the Facebook page to stand out from regular content.
The social media content drove a large amount of new users to the specially designed website. With the help of strongly targeted Facebook advertising campaigns, we were able to introduce new users to the LLC Facebook page and provide 8 direct social conversions. All this activity led to a 4502% increase in reach on Facebook and hundreds of new page likes.
