Meet Lucy! Ewe’s new Motion Designer

April 2022
Kate Fawcett

At the start of 2022 we welcomed a dazzling new team member to the ewe crew. We’re pleased to introduce Lucy James, our new Motion Designer.

An expert in all things motion, Lucy is the creative mind behind all the amazing moving graphics and animations for our client’s array of digital projects. We caught up with Lucy to see how she’s settling in.

- Let’s start with the important stuff. Are you partial to a cuppa tea or coffee while you’re at work?

Both! Coffee to get me started followed by copious amounts of brews to fill me with creativi-tea.

- What’s your favourite thing about living in Yorkshire?

I love walking in the gorgeous countryside, I’m very much a country girl at heart.

- How have you settled in at ewe?

Great, everyone has been so welcoming, and I’ve worked on some cool projects so far. There’s a great working ethos at ewe and I’m excited to get stuck into upcoming projects.

- What projects have you been working on?

I’ve worked on various videos for RPC social who provide Oracle Primavera training. As well as some lovely animations for MindMate who support young people in Leeds to find help with their mental health and wellbeing.

- Do you have any dream clients that you’d love to work with?

Innocent smoothie would be cool to work with, they’re a unique brand with a sense of humour. I think their branding would lend itself really well to motion design.

- Any advice for anyone looking to become a motion designer?

Be patient, animation takes time. Planning a piece by storyboarding each frame clearly to break it down before going digital, is a good way to iron out any issues and save time. Like any skill, it takes time to develop and improve so stick at it!

We’re loving the work Lucy has created so far, and she’s already settled into the team. Keep a look out for some amazing stuff coming your way soon!
